Directed initiatives on cancer prevention, including creation and execution of communications (earned and social media) and advocacy strategies for federal appropriations and awareness about cancer risk factors. A key to success was identifying new grass-tops leaders to promote key messages, including over 20 cancer center directors.

Envisioned, wrote, and executed annual India tobacco control strategies with a ~$2 million budget for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK).

Led the campaign to implement pictorial warnings on tobacco products and developed the Smoke-free Mumbai Campaign plan for Healis, a leading tobacco control research and advocacy organization in India.

Won $1 million from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for cancer prevention.

Technical Assistance

Collaborated with and provided technical assistance to advocates in India, Bangladesh, and Indonesia to support winning tobacco control campaigns including increasing tobacco taxes, passing and implementing smoke-free workplace laws, and implementing pictorial warnings on tobacco packages with the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

With the Comprehensive Cancer Control National Partnership, co-led technical assistance focused on tobacco taxes and smoke-free campaigns for leaders in the pacific island jurisdictions through in-person workshops and remote webinars.
